    can't break my lugs

If you have inner and outer nuts on your truck (BUDD wheels), remember that the LEFT side is LEFT handed threads and the RIGHT side is RIGHT handed threads. Don't mix them up!

Any info on my old MAC box?

Nik....I have three boxes like the one in the second picture. I purchased them between 1975 and 1979, but mine have MAC in each chrome handle, so yours must be older than that. I wanted all my boxes keyed alike and my Snap On dealer was able to provide SO locks that fit the MAC boxes. You might...

Finished restoring my Stanley Bedrock #607 *Pic heavy!

oldwizzard...japanning is the thick, black original finish used on these planes. You can look up japanning and find how it can be reproduced. Myself, several coats of gloss black enamel is good enough. afx....nice job!

Can Anyone Help Me Date This SK Set ???

By the mid 40's the S-K Chrome stamping had been replaced with just S-K. About 1957 the 12 point 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 were replaced with 6 point sockets. (Information taken from Alloy Artifacts site.) On these assumptions the set would be from mid-40's to 1957?

$50 Craigslist deal on a tool box full of sockets/ratchets!!

I was interested but didn't recognize the phone number. A little google and find it's a cell in Kewanee, 30 miles away. Lost intrest real quick. The ad is 10 days old. If it's a good deal with name brand stuff they are probably already gone.

    Recommendations for a new box

Any chance you could find another identical box and mate them side by side? My first rollaround (around 1975) was a MAC similar to yours. When it got full I started looking for options but soon decided I wasn't going to spend mega bucks for a bigger one. Luckily I found an identical box used...

    Got Old Tools n Stuff

The multi-tool (if complete) is a table saw (and a mighty fine one at that), drill press, lathe, disc sander, and a horizontal boring machine (for woodworking). The head is variable speed. There are lots of accessories that can be added as a persons needs arise. Used ones around here bring...
