    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

I'm utterly blown away by this. I enjoy seeing people who are craftsmen and utilize that skill to many different ends. Photography, bikes, carpentry, etc. You're an inspiration, Gregor. One thing I don't like (out of envy) is how amazing the Formica looks in that space. In a lesser setting it...

    Good Lumber Source in DFW

I checked out a neat little place in south Dallas a week or so ago. They tear down old houses and sell the reclaimed stuff at what seemed to me to be reasonable prices. They deal primarily with hardwood flooring but have stacks and stacks of lumber out in their yard, too. Old Texas Wood 6920 CF...

    Help with Sketchup

For me personally, I put the entire build in a single quadrant. That way, the axes guides aren't constantly crossing my field of view or protruding from my model. I can think of a few times it may be useful but that just isn't how I do it. Besides, it's a breeze to just move your axes if need...

    Floor looks terrible!

I'm not as well informed as others on here but I'd be willing to bet that given some time, the imprints will go away. It most likely that moisture caused the clear coat to fog up and once the moisture evaporates it will be gone. Let's see what others think...

    How to calculate height

If you're any good with drywall repair you could cut out a big enough section in the ceiling to allow you to stand it upright and then fix the hole. Might be better than damaging the piece.

    Building shelf above workbench

How about, instead of cable, you run pipe down from the ceiling and through the shelf. With the trim on there, I think that might look really cool. Pipe would be a lot stronger, too, I'd think. Kind of like these:

    Hoisting tools to the attic?

I saw one of those garage makeover shows where they used a garage door opener to raise and lower something like what RHD 4 LIFE mentioned.

    School me on hanging Drywall

The only advice I can offer is to be sure to stagger your sheets (like laying brick). I wouldn't have known to do it that way if it weren't for this site.

what would you do if you were me?

I, too, wanted to build but cooler heads prevailed. We just bought a foreclosure that's 1000 sq ft larger than our current home and about $15K LESS in a much nicer neighborhood. Sure, it needs work, but it isn't anything I can't do or hire out to do. In a few years I'll sell it and make a...

    Husky Hang Alls

I have something similar. It's a piece of rope with a loop tied into each end. Both loops hanging from a nail holds my big extension cord.

    Tablesaw storage help

Just a thought, but couldn't you put an opened bag of kitty litter in there when you wrap it in plastic? That should absorb what little moisture it will collect, assuming you will use it at least a couple times a year. That, combined with proper waxing, and you should be good, I'd think.
