I am finishing a workshop space, and will be ready for trim in a couple weeks. I plan to use 3/4 MDF ripped to a yet to be determined width, and then route a small radius on the outside corners of the door and window trim, and the top outside corner of the base board. My current plan is to spray...
Thanks for all the replies, it’s all been very helpful. I’ll be drafting my final plan for applying the paint in the next week or 2, but you all have giving me a ton of helpful info.
One more question for the folks on here that do a lot of paintIng. Seems like all the pros here in town use...
In 2 or 3 weeks, the Sheetrock will be finished in my shop build out, and it will be time to paint. I would like to DIY the interior pant to save on some labor costs. I painted the interior of my house, so I’m not a complete newbie, but I‘m not very experienced either. This space is a workshop...
I’m going to go forced air furnace with an A/C condenser outside. It’s the most expensive, but should give me years of trouble free performance no matter what the weather does.
Confession time, I’m a nevernude… :ROFLMAO:
Obscure reference to an old Fox show called Arrested Development. But showering in socks only would be very funny and save on laundry.
The bathroom has a nice sized shower, and room for a stacked washer and dryer. I’m just trying to plan ahead to the day when my wife and I have more time to RV. We thought it would be very handy to pull the RV into the building, and do all the laundry right there. I figured if we are going that...
I have a 8'x8' bathroom in my workshop currently under construction. This is a build out in an existing pole shed, and the bathroom area has an existing concrete floor with no moisture barrier. I think I want to put luxury vinyl plank flooring down. Will LVP work over a concrete slab with no...
I’m starting on a work shop build out inside my uninsulated unheated pole building. The pole building is 45’ x 65’ x 16’ side walls, and my internal workshop will be 18’x48’x12’ side walls yielding me about 870 sq. Ft. of space. In this 870 sq ft. There will be a 64 sq. Ft. bathroom and 64 sq...
I’m not an electrician, but I’ve been around quite a bit of wiring in my life. Electricians have always re-enforced to me that the breakers job is to protect the wire between the outlet and the breaker. Assuming your wire and breaker are sized correctly, I see no harm in pigging backing another...
I’m still waiting to find out if natural gas is an option. If natural gas is available, I’ll likely go with natural gas heat and electric A/C. If I can get a mini split that uses natural gas, I’d strongly consider that for the cost savings on duct work. Hopefully I’ll find out this week on the NG.
Sounds like an amazing space, I’d go for A/C at the build and be done with it. In the past I swore I’d never have Drywall in a garage/work space, but I’ve done a 180 on that thought process. I’ve seen lots of folks using French cleats on drywall for hanging things / storage, and it’s very...
Thanks for the reply. Is your MrCool all electric? I'm guessing you don't need much heat in Texas. How is the energy efficiency in the heat of summer? Are you well insulated?
