Without a clamp like that in my had to verify, I’d guess the slippage keeps the clamp from getting locked in a way that there isn’t enough swing to release the pawl. If the pawl is under tension at full grip, it’s possible there wouldn’t be enough play left to give the pawl room to release.
There was a thread with this question years ago in regards to loosening bolts on a forage chopper, iirc. I can’t find it for searching but it would be interesting to know what the conclusion of that question was.
I know a 3/4 would be a slam dunk but it also sounds like an SLL80 or SLF80 would...
I have a Mac set from 25 years ago that was US and probably Irwin. In today’s market I buy the cheapest version of a tool truck tool I can find as almost all are made in Taiwan. I can’t speak to the current version of Mac but the new Icons are indistinguishable from my old Mac.
There is a lot of garage cleanings there but the bulk is consigned. Any item that sells for less than $6 is considered a donation but the department only takes 25 percent of higher sales. For the Sunday equipment auction they have tiers of commission, over 1k is ten percent, over 10k is five...
This was year sixty for a local fire departments fundraising auction. They take consignments from the community and spend Saturday with four auction wagons selling for, in this weekends case, eight hours.
I’ve made it to three quarters of the auctions and am always struck by the amount of old...
I use a sawzall like a jigsaw or a metal blade in a jigsaw to do long cuts in light metal. All that leverage with an abrasive wheel feels like a possible problem if binding occurs.
Reminds me of the opening act in Kreutzer Sonata. To paraphrase : “when a man has enough to eat he has many problems, when he doesn’t have enough to eat, he has one problem”
Another plus for the side mount is the one we installed included a battery backup. In a power outage you can open or close the door depending on the need.
Pressure blasting is the term I’ve heard used to describe introducing abrasive media into a pressure washers stream to strip rust or paint. Thinking about it now, I’ve also heard it called dustless sandblasting.
I have a new to me Trail King equipment trailer with badly flaking paint due to...
This has been my interior do-all for a long time(not the one pictured, it’s a screen grab). I really wanted to go with the new ones but even if they were $100 each that would feel a bit pricey. Even with twenty year old batteries on their last legs, it’s tough to beat this style and size for so...
