    Phase converters

Phase converters are very easy to build. All you need is a 3 phase motor and a bunch of capacitors. There is just a ton of info about building them on the internet. Lot cheaper than buying one.

    Question about house electric problem

My shop is on the same transformer but with its own meter and a different splice for the ground wire so we had no problem. The Workman said the splice connector was an older style that could get water inside and when it froze would expand thus loosening the connection. --Live and learn -- they...

For a couple of days the lights would be dim or later REAL bright and the micro wave would cook real slow or real fast.So we called the power co and two guys came right away with lots of equipment. If you go to a Doctor with poison ivy the latest remidy they use is Prednazone (spelled wrong) I should have listened to the 3 drugests that told me that if you take that stuff I had better know where the nearest emergency room is -- they were right -- I almost died of the cure...

    What welder to buy?

I own 5 different welders but the one I use the most is my Miller 135 MIG in 120 volt running .023" wire. I can take it to any house and plug it in any where even with a 100 foot cord and run it full blast. If I need to weld some thing rather thick I go with stick because of the wide selection...

Workbench Tops - What's your preference?

I used an 1/8" sheet of Aluminum -- if I spill something nasty I can scrape it with no problem in my case it might be Epoxy that leaked over night and hardened. I also weld nearly every day and with top conductive the whole thing is ground -- easy place to lay out some weird shape. Yes my shop...
