Looking to purchase a compact 1/4" air ratchet

It is a little bulky compared to a standard coupler, but for me the benefits outweighed the extra size. I like how it bleeds off the air line downstream of the coupler before disconnecting. It requires a lot less strength to disconnect and connect a tool, which is nice when you're doing it a...

Looking to purchase a compact 1/4" air ratchet

I used a Mac AR249 for years as a Honda/Suzuki/KTM then Audi/VW tech. Very handy. I stopped working at the dealerships before all the battery tools took over. https://www.mactools.com/en-us/Power-Tools/Air-Drive-Tools/AR249/ I also used a swivel on it, and a Tomco universal safety coupler...

    Best brake caliper piston tool?

I used a Lisle 25000 as a VW / Audi tech through 2005. I think I actually bought it off the Matco truck. It worked on everything I needed it to as far as rear calipers that needed to have the pistons spun in. Haven't used it on any recent VWs though.

Double Box End Ratchets --- Bad Rap?

Really happy with this set. Very stout wrenches. Proto J1100S-M With these, combination SK long pattern, and some double open end and double box end Craftsman USA raised panel, there hasn't been much I needed a wrench for that I didn't have the right wrench.

Looking for a good DC multimeter

For automotive and marine troubleshooting and aftermarket equipment installation I keep a Uni-T 210E and a Fluke 101 handy. Both of them together come in under $100 on Amazon right now. I sometimes find it handy to use the amp clamp from the Uni-T and still have a voltmeter (voltage drop...

    Stubby 3/8" ratchets?

I have one of those. I like it, but it's not a fine tooth. It's got a good feel to it. Can lean on it as hard as anyone's likely to with one hand and you're not going to hurt anything, and it's fast to flick back and forth when running something on or off. Nice size handle, decent knurling...

    Old gasket removal

These are next to magic. I worked in an automotive machine shop for a while, and this was my go to tool for gasket removal. They kind of push the gasket off the surface rather than slice under it, and it's easy to use a lot of force without gouging the surface, even on aluminum. I used the SS1...

OK tool experts. What is this socket called, and what's it for?

One place they are used is on road signs.
