There is one tile that can with stand about 2700 pounds per square inch, I don't know that it would be less expensive than epoxy, but it does look great when it is done and it is very durable.     BLT has 2' self stick tiles that come in black and white. Do a google search, for BLT self stick tiles and you should come up with some places that you can get it.

    tile "centering?"

    The only problem with "centering" is that you have to buy more tiles. If your doing a design then this is by far the best way to go. But if it is all the same pattern and color, Most people have no problems with having a small peice on the edge. Alot of the tiles you don't even notice.

    There is some stuff it is called pour-n-restore. It should get out most stains, it is what was recommend to me by JNK Products for cleaning old stains. I don't know that it is a local product, I have only ever found it online. You can go to jnk's web site.:)
