    Question for builders

An issue would be fire separation - generally easier for a vertical wall (garage and living space on the same level) than for a horizontal assembly (the floor/ceiling between the garage and living space). You'd also need to provide access to the living space that does not go through the garage...

Great to see you back to work on the models! Not that the garden tractor builds weren't equally interesting! So, where did the tires come from?

    Green driveway build questions

Recognize that the pavers aren't 100% permeable. Basically, they'll have a permeability factor. Whereas grass may be 100% permeable, the paver system might only be 20% permeable. Here is a typical chart:

    Concrete Help

It looks to me like someone tried to fill the crack with an asphaltic sealant of some sort. I'm not sure how someone would force an expansion joint board down in there after the fact (after the fact because, as you say, it isn't uniform). My guess is that the contractor didn't bother to put...

    Siding choices?

It does need to be able to dry out. I've seen a lot of failures where contractors got it either too close to grade or to a roof and it crumbles over time. I've had it on my workshop for twenty years now with no issues. What with doing welding and plasma cutting in the driveway, I wanted...

    Double garage door conversion......

It's one continuous header now, but the wall between the two doors is supporting it in the middle - so the header won't support the full span without that middle wall. As Ninja says, a lot of factors involved in calculating the header to support over the opening.

Garage Door Pricing - Wind Load $$$

Insurance. If damage is caused by an unrated door, they'll deny the claim. And it is not just the cost of the door. If the failure of the door leads to water intrusion, depressurization/roof blowing off, etc, etc then the entire claim gets thrown out.
