    Stubby 14mm / 17mm hex keys

You can find similar tools on Amazon if you are on a budget. I have a long handle ratcheting and non ratcheting wrench with various adapter fittings and stubbies including hex that are occasionally very useful.

    RV Converter Question

A battery at 12.4V should not be an issue. Usually problems do not start until 12.0 or less.

Anti Seize on McPherson Strut Assembly, Knuckle Pinch Type

I have started using heat. Should have started sooner. I live in the Northeast where we have a lot of corrosion. I am using more never seize as well. But sometimes rust has made the bolt or nut into a tiny nub that will break when it comes apart and the totally rusted stuck bolt that is left is...

    RV Converter Question

It may not on some vehicles and it may on others. Theoretically you would think plugging in bypasses the battery system. Apparently it does not completely do so on some vehicles. I am not an RVer but my father in law is and I helped drive him to his RV in Florida this winter. The batteries...

Relocating and moving 2 post lift or sell and buy new qu

Lifts last a long time and prices for quality ones are way up. I would move it. I did a solo install of Atlas BP8000 about 15 years ago and disassembled and sold it when I moved (the new house had a wood floor barn so I needed a 4 post). On the disassembly, I did get loading help from the buyer...

    Split Beam Torque Wrench Opinions

I would buy the Icon today if I was buying split beam. I have Precision 3/8 and 1/2. I noticed the name Beemer and I do a lot of DIY work on BMW cars and SUVs. As someone else pointed out, angle torque is very common now on BMWs. I have the Icon 1/2 angle torque and the Quinn 3/8 angle torque...

Does Your Body Hurt Less with a Lift?

I am slower getting up and down at 61 than 31. Back then it would not bother me to get out from under the car 10 times to get a part or tool, or to set the car in jackstands. I still could, but would rather not. Had a 2 post lift in my last garage and prefer them for their greater under car...

$9K installed quote for a tuxedo lift what are they thinking!!

The OP is not you. The OP is complaining about how much he has to pay someone to do the work for him.

$9K installed quote for a tuxedo lift what are they thinking!!

Can you DIY? I assembled my Atlas 2 post solo and my Bendpak 4 post solo. You have to be creative with lifting aids. I had car wheel dollies, moving dollies, floor jacks, engine joist, folding ladders, and a 3D laser level. I picked up the crate at the depot with a borrowed truck and trailer and...

I need a plumber! How do you fix this?

I would take this opportunity to fix everything in that photo properly rather than continue kludging **** together and kicking the can down the road.

Rigging for lifting pallets and other options for lifting stuff to 2nd floor?

Such a nice, large barn. Build an elevator, a proper one safe for human use. Cost more but you should have it forever. I sort of regret not doing that in my 24x30 carriage house that had a basement, 1st floor, second floor and attic. I have a way to get stuff from the 1st to 2nd floor and plan...
