    MDF vs Pine vs Hardwood

BTW, many of HD's mouldings and other Big Box stores buy their mouldings from Alexandria. Huge selection and online catalogue here: http://www.alexmo.com/?page=mouldings

    MDF vs Pine vs Hardwood

Sort of on topic. I replaced all the baseboards in a previous house I owned. I couldn't use a coping saw to save my life, but I wanted to do it right. I bought this: http://www.thecoper.com It works amazingly well and can perfectly cope a baseboard in about 5 seconds. (Professionals - no...

    Moving outside faucet - PEX

Milton, kbs....Brilliant. Weekend warrior, the faucet is at the back of a raised garden with retaining blocks around it. The trees are pyrimidial cedars so they are okay where they are, but thanx for the suggestion anyway.

    Moving outside faucet - PEX

I should have been more specific. This will be an extension, not moving. (Boomer, they can win any 3 quarter game. Now 4 quarters, that's something else entirely.)

    Moving outside faucet - PEX

Advice and opinions needed. My outside faucet is about 6 feet away from where it should be. I currently have to crawl behind some trees to get it. I want to extend the outlet about 6 feet, including at least two 90 degree outside and inside corners to allow it to route to beside my front...

    Impact vs Regular Socket

OP poster here. The problem with this is not only the impact socket needed. It's that the 1 1/8 nut is at the end of the mainshaft on a 1974 MGB Overdrive Transmission that is on the bench, not on the car. So, I can't just reef on it because any turning of the nut, turns the drive flange which...

    Impact vs Regular Socket

We don't have HF up here, but we do have Princess Auto - checked there this morning - nada. Thanx for the advice. I will wrap the chrome with tape and see what happens.

    Impact vs Regular Socket

I have one nut to take off. Shop manual says I need an impact gun to remove it. I tried without an impact gun and realize the manual is right. I have a impact gun but don't have a 1 1/8 impact socket. I won't ever be taking this nut off again - one time off, then one time on again - so...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I just installed a central vac to be used only for the cars. It's a small Husky unit. I mounted it above and between the two overhead doors and ran the pipes down between the doors. Works like a charm. Bought it brand new off Kijiji for $100.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I'll tell you what I did and I'm not happy!! SOB!! I've got a 1974 MGB. I am putting on brand new wire wheels so I need brand new hubs. I spent four hours today trying to get the right front one on. It wouldn't tighten up. No way, no how. Finally...

I need a rack to store my wheels and tires

I've got the rack you don't want. I have an MDX. I keep my winter/summer tires and rims on it, as well as an extra for my Volvo. It's mounted way up high. Ya, it's a pain to get the wheels off and on, but it's only twice a year. They are out of the way and out of mind. I like many of the other...

And speaking of Natural Gas Heaters and Thermostats

I have an NG heater on the ceiling of my garage. The thermostat won't go much below 10C (50F). I want to replace it with a digital thermostat. There are only two wires to the current thermostat. Will this work? Or at least will this type work (if it doesn't go low enough)...
