    Pneumatic nail gun part question

An update for anyone interested: the part that rlitman found arrived today and it did fit with some effort. It’s not soft rubber, nor is it hard plastic, so it did have a little give as I pressed it onto the assembly inside the nailer. Once it was on, it looks like it belongs there, if slightly...

That does look like it might fit. Can’t hurt to try.

    Pneumatic nail gun part question

What are the chances that a similar-looking part would have the exact same part number? I’m guessing that’s probably the right one. Thanks.

I might give them a call. Thanks for the tip on the Senco part. Looks close.

    Pneumatic nail gun part question

Well, the manual calls it a "14/15 Gauge Angle Finish Nailer." I've been looking through the other brands on eReplacementParts.com and can't find one that is similar enough that I'd trust a part to fit correctly. Many have a part that is almost right, but of course none of them have any...

    Pneumatic nail gun part question

The metal part in the first photo is the “piston head valve,” but the missing part is referred in the manual and at the link in DFB’s reply as a “seal.” Inside the piston head valve is a part called a piston stopper, but I do have one of those in working condition.

I have photos only of the remains of the seal, so I have no idea what it looks like. The user manual parts list shows only a disc-shaped drawing. It mounts against this surface (the crud is what's left of the seal): and it forms a seal against this part:

    Craftsman drill press resto-mod

Just wanted to add this: I replaced the v-belt with a link belt and the difference is night and day. SO much smoother and quieter. Highly recommended. The color even matches the drill press!

    Pneumatic nail gun part question

Today I picked up a couple old Grizzly nail guns for free from a Craigslist seller. He was under the impression they weren’t working, but after a quick cleaning, I found the brad nailer works like new. The finish nailer is a different story and is missing a seal that deteriorated over time. I...

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

I hope you don’t mind if I chime in with my recent experience with a link-belt. 😊 I replaced a nearly new v-belt with a new link-belt and the difference was night and day. The old belt would vibrate like crazy and the new belt has a whine not unlike a supercharger belt on an engine. And super...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

My 3" Morgan 130 (new-to-me Columbian in the background): I use the Morgan all the time, so it definitely doesn't look like a bench queen. I got it from my dad (it was sitting under his bench for the longest time) and restored it when I moved into this home and built a proper bench.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

My newest acquisition: A 3-½" Columbian that I picked up as part of a lot on Craigslist. Also got a bench grinder and pipe vise. I was after the grinder and the price for all three was good, so I figured I could clean this up and re-sell it to recoup some of the costs of the lot. After...

    Craftsman drill press resto-mod

I suspect it might be, but I haven't had any problems yet. Of course, I haven't attempted any intensive drilling yet, so I really have no idea. These little motors are quite powerful, they can run a treadmill steadily with the pounding footsteps of [an adult human who needs to do more exercise]...
