Yea because its typical for sill plates to be anchored at their edge and not their center [emoji23][emoji23]🤣
I will post a few pics when the project is finished.

Makes no logical sense. I'm simply ripping a 2x6 down to a 2x4 or 2x5. Most buildings have a 2x4 sill plate. By your logic they are all built incorrectly. Many tool options have already been mentioned. Thanks everyone!
I can plunge cut with a sawzall but typically that is done with what you are cutting being elevated on saw horses or something of that sort. There is concrete underneath. You must have a much steadier hand than me to think it would be "easy peasy" to plunge cut 100 linear foot directly on top...
That's what I was doing with my oscillating tool but what is ruining the blades is when they constantly hit the concrete when I get to the bottom pass. Maybe I will try your method down to the last 1/4" and then use the other posters hammer and chisel method to finish it off.
Your response is appreciated but I disagree. With the sawzall angled and the blade flexed to clear the guard/drywall its going to want to constantly hit the drywall at the portion of the blade that is flexing. The sawzall would have to be at around a 30 degree angle due to the thickness of its...
The same thing crossed my mind although I appreciate all the responses. To get past the guard on the sawzall I would have to let the guard rest against the drywall and cut in at an angle. Then I would likely cut inward too much and get into structural issues by cutting past the portion of the...
As a winter project I want to trim out my garage in 1 by. I am using treated 1x4 for baseboard as some moisture comes up through the floor. I don't think they used a vapor barrier. The bottom plate sticks out around 3/4"-1" past the drywall. How can I cut it flush with the drywall? I tried...
I just noticed there are two different SKUs for this item...

The latter appears to be the newer item. Seems to be the same tools, but includes a different case. "The blow-molded case is made from Zerust® infused plastic which emits an invisible vapor that forms a protective...
Only downside to using it in a vehicle is the reviews on lowes.com state the drawers try to come open. I will use a ratchet strap wrapped around the box to keep it closed in my truck.
It definitely works. I got a set for $80.00. You have to add an item of $1.00 or more to get the total purchase at $100.00 or more. Also, make sure you are changing the "R's" to random numbers in the code. May take a few tries as the code you make could have been used before.
Just purchased...
It is the same set they sell year round. I purchased this same set last year as a gift for my brother. It has a lifetime hassle free warranty. I plan on keeping it in the truck for emergencies. Also, planning on buying another for a gift.
