thanks for all the advise, the truck has been sitting for about 7 yrs, i found it n a farmers feild, the original owner bought it new and passed away in 06, it has 60,151 original miles and is clean as a button, took about 3 hrs to get it running, I thought the problem was the carb so i took off...

tried that last night with WD-40...didnt find anything that changed ...
