    Thanks Milton. I can support the floor joists on either side of the new columns with a jack post that could remain in basement. It would be off set 6" from foundation sill so not directly under new jack and king studs. Could that work?

    Engineer said needed to carry concentrated load under new jack studs as result of installing beam which eliminates 6 original framing studs.

    Installing LVL beam in exterior wall and structural engineer calling for filling concrete block cells under new jack studs. What is best way to access and fill cells? Block wall is basement wall.

    Am a retired Project Manager for commercial building projects; mostly automobile dealerships. Have purchased a 100 year old home and doing renovations. Could use some advice on filling existing concrete block cells under a load bearing wall.
