Pay attention if you buy Craftsman these days

The OP is foolish in thinking the quality matters because of three letters stamped on the handle. Even if those magical 3 letters are on the handle, the tooling, presses, packaging etc etc all came from China or elsewhere. Other than not having those three letters I have yet to read about any...

Pay attention if you buy Craftsman these days

So did the ratchets not ratchet? Did the socket not stay on? Did it not reverse? What the problem other than thinking that USA made stuff is better? Oh, wait, you wanted a cheap tool so you bought one. That's right. So if any random 'chinese junk' has the three letters U S A on them they...

    Sears Destroying With-In

So you INTENTIONALLY SEEK OUT the CHEAPEST PRICE, and expect the BEST SERVICE? If you wanted that level of service wait for the Snap On/Matco truck to roll by... they never make mistakes even at the super duper premium prices. I order a ratchet wrench set online for in store pick up. Got the...

Float Charger vs Trickle Charger - Your Experiences

Assembled in USA with all imported parts.. yeah, that means something. I have a HF 12V $4 charger on my winch battery. 1 yr and still works fine. Darn Chinese $4 ****.

ever put mdf cabinet doors over gorilla racks/pallet racks?

Gorilla racks? Way to expensive. Craigslist for pallet racking. I got a massive deal on 16ft x 6ft uprights and 96 in bars, 2 uprights and 6 bars (3 shelves) for $100.

    6 x 10 utility trailer build

Buy used. In PA the costs to have a home-built trailer inspected is almost $200, plus all the other fee. Transfer a title is like $25+ sales tax. I bought one of the HF bolt together units (good deal) for $350 and spend another $300 to get it legal.... could have bought a used one via...

Will Sears replace my "made in the USA" ratchet with another one?

I find it hilarious that you think there is a difference. Another 'made in 'merica' consumer..... HILARIOUS.

    Water curing my 23x24 slab?

My 24 x 40 slab on grade is on #2 gravel... no plastic or insulation. Water will drain away via the gravel. My slab is 4 years old and the joints are cracked. If they could stop cracks, they would put it in writing. I have never seen a contractor provide a 10 or 20 year no crack warranty...

Re Key locks without the key?

I have to pick my garage door every so often... when I lock my car in it, and leave the keys on the shelf. Picking the lock is at best, a 5 minute deal. There are youtube videos galore. Paperclips work best. Most key locks are 'security theater'.. then will stop a very casual thief... but if...

    Water curing my 23x24 slab?

Well, you are in for a surprise. Your concrete will crack. Not if, just when. Rebar doesn't prevent cracks, just the spreading of the two halves once the cracks are made. That tree, of some other root system, will heave the ground and cause a crack. At least your contractor made his house...

    Shop air line pressure?

I would have to wonder the time it takes for two identical pumps, one with a set point at 125PSI and the other at 175PSI to fill the same receiver. How much longer will it tale the pump to get that last 50PSI? Also, do you really get 40% more CFM at 175PSI vs 125psi? If so, why don't...

    Shop air line pressure?

If you need MORE AIR get a higher CFM pump. When did having a compressor run become a bad thing? Its what they do. If I am sandblasting my compressor runs all the time. I get about 80PSI out of the pressure pot and my receiver will not last a full pot. If there is a PSI drop it ain't...

    Car service ramps

Those are SPORTS CARS. High performance designs built in small quantities. A FORMULA car is not on the road with little Timmy in the back seat. The MR2 has a limited production run of 130,000 in the US over 10 years. Hardly a typical car that most people would drive. Your trying to...
