Contractor suggests mini splits, now I'm unsure

I installed my own Mitsubishi Mr. Slim system and had a profession do the turn up for $200. It saved me about 40% over all of quotes I had for a pro to do the entire job. It's fairly simple if you feel comfortable with a little electrical. The only special tool I had to buy was a 3" hole saw...

You're welcome. It's been working out well. I'm just finishing up a big green egg table build for a friend.

I rebuilt the miter saw support and started on a dust hood. I wasn't happy with the depth of the cabinet tops. They only left about 3-4 inches of support for the miter saw, so I remade them about 4 inches deeper. I'll repurpose the old tops for a proper drill press table. The dust hood...

I added some drawers to the lower half of the router table. I also finished the drawers for my other cabinets. I still need to rebuild the support for the miter saw and build a dust shroud.

Almost finished up some more cabinets. This time it's for a miter saw station. Normally, I wouldn't make a station exclusive to the miter saw, because I consider it a rough tool only. However, it's a good excuse to have more work surfaces and tool storage. So far, I have the base and...

Thanks R. Deschain. I will look into that. I'm assuming you got your name from the famous gunslinger. If so, what do you think about the movie adaptation rumors? Scav, not immediately. I'm building some more storage and then I need to start making furniture. I would love to have a...

For anyone interested in the router table, check out my blog for more details. I've included the Sketchup file there, as well. http://bloodsweatsawdust.com/2016/05/27/building-perfect-router-table/

Thanks. If I did it again, I could do it better in half the time. :D

The top is 43 x 25. For dust collection, I drilled a 4" hole using a hole saw and mounted a 4" plastic dust port. I created a ramp and hood at the rear/bottom of the router/lift enclosure to funnel dust into the port. I'll be using my 3hp cyclone to pull dust, so there shouldn't be much issues.

I just finished my router table. I stole a lot of ideas from Norm Abram's Deluxe Router Station. Mine is a bit wider and roles on casters. I'm very happy with it. There are some nice pre-built options out there, but none have adequate storage or dust collection. This thing will hold more...

    Small Garage Woodshop Build

I started building a router table last week and was almost able to finish it over the weekend. I was heavily inspired by Norm Abrams deluxe router station, but all of the measurements are my own. I'm using a Jessem Mast-R-Lift and Porter Cable motor.
