Gadget Addiction Update:
Summary:
- Bought a Midtronics MDX-700P HD cheap on eBay. Overkill for use on cars (ie meant for truck use). Later sold it when I got an MDX-P300.
- Bought a CTEK Battery Analyser as well. Haven't really used it, although the few times I did try it out it was...
The mission: To remove suspension bushes from some front lower control arms. I need to heat up the outside of the arms to help push the old bushes out.
What I need to do, and how I’ll do it:
The large front bush is a pain to remove. The smaller rear one tends to slide out fairly easily...
Why not just get a motorbike scissor lift?
Very useful. Adjustable height. Gives you full access to all of the bike.
I've got the one with castor wheels, which means that I can move it around if I need to.
Makes washing the bike much easier - can get under mudguards, frame, etc (eg dirt bike).
I'm regularly working on cars late at night (taxis).
I use: Streamlight 61200 3AA HAZ-LOTM Flashlight, Yellow
That way I've always got light where I'm looking at, without shadows. Very useful gadget, couldn't survive without it.

To show what I've been doing so far I've set up a build thread.
The photos on there will show what I've done, etc.

Initially I used a bolt and an aerosol can cap, but then replaced the bolt with an...
I’m trying to clean the rust out of a motorbike fuel tank with electrolysis, but it’s not working for me.
Initially, I connected the charger directly to the fuel tank. This didn’t work, and I eventually realised that the charger was shutting off automatically.
The negative lead is on bare...
Living near rail tracks: You need robots outside the house that look like naked women.
Word gets out amongst the train drivers.
Take it real slow and easy past that house. There might be naked women in that back yard.
Result: Trains go past slow, and don't make any noise.
I might have to try one out.
One sold for $12.50. WTF.

The Ctek is good for giving a quick CCA reading. Would be useful to have for basic home use.
I like that the Midtronics has the printer. I've currently got three taxis and two personal cars. The taxis go through a battery roughly every 12 months.
With the Midtronics unit I have been...
Awwwww... shucks... you guys are so kind... I'm flattered.
:D
And I just bought a Ctek Battery Analyzer cheap as well.

I'll mess around with both of them when they get to me here in Australia. If the much cheaper Ctek does things as well as the...
