I have two 4-ton Walker floor jacks, one a 784 and the other an 884. Externally, they look identical. Does anyone know over what years they were originally manufactured?

You are correct, the hard plastic washer heel plate goes on the end of the rod first, then the pump cup, and I agree the bits of black plastic are the center/retainer.
