    Ground rod placement

I placed my two 8ft rods no more then 5 inches from the shop foundation 6ft apart, tied them together then to shops subpanel case. Dont forget that the neutral floats at the subpanel if your power source comes from the main service panel like mine. I have a detached shop with a 60ft cable run.

They polished it pretty much the entire day after they poured concrete then sprayed on some type of sealer, this is what it looked like just after the sprayed sealer. Be cool if you could keep it looking that way but no, impossible.

Spent a weekend mounting and wiring lights with my sons help, started moving things from single house garage to the shop. Decided on 14 fixtures on every other beam using T8 Fl's, Half done here. All overheads turned on, still working out the work bench and have to roll the tool box in, we...

Ok its been awhile since I posted anything but things are moving forward. Its abit picture heavy but I know you all like pictures. 4 inches of gravel hauled in packed down, more like pounded down. I flooded for a day, let soak in and drain off for a day, following day they poured...

Ok, this is the shops current state. I'm waiting for shingles, window, door and garage doors and at some point a pad. Things could slow down at this point as I haven't heard any ETA. But I'm really liking the outcome and can now see a building as a building. :)

Got home tonight trusses were in place. They had to hand lift in place and I missed the show, sorry no pictures. I'm trying to keep a chronological photo diary but miss 10 or so hours each day, gotta work! Suppose to have 288sq ft of storage space in the attic up here, I can see it.

Its built off the foundation, the foundation wont move or change. Walls were plumbed/squared. I'm abit confused as to why the pad wasnt laid after the foundation. Contractor said thats last, seems weird to me but Im not a contractor, I'll ask him.

Agree, I do live in the desert but the neighborhood has been around since 1978, long enough to have older tree growth. I'v been pretty much been fenced in by my neighbors trees. I also get their leafs in the fall. :)

There will be a 16ft roll up door hanging on the header your seeing. Not sure if thats the reason for the beam, I'll ask the contractor and let ya know.
