it may not come to fruition but I grabbed some free logs (oak for the framing and pine for batten/board)
Maybe small for most people but it was some decent size wood for me to handle
So this happened.
Got a call from an old colleague late in the afternoon.
“Hey you are a woodworker right?”
Me -a bit…
“ well my brother-in-law died about 13 years ago and was an avid woodworker. His wife just passed. Junk dealer is coming tomorrow to got the house and everything is going to...
Added a saw holder, there just wasn’t a great place to keep one until now. Just need to add a chain/storage box just behind plow blade and I’ll be happy
Starting on winch mount, pic of grapple with heel down
Heel will act as a skid winch mount and it is also useful for holding wood “on end” like a fishing pole. Good for loading and feeding chipper. Frankly, the most frequent use for me will be to allow me to still do pivot turns or have...
I hope Xmas 2025 was good to everyone. Got out of the shop
to try out my new stand that I made
It is dual purpose for ML pistols and also cylinder press for revolvers.
Pistols:
Hege Siber 33 (modern) and a Marston boot pistol (1800’s)
Rehab of a Colleoni co35 forge
Cute little ******. Stainless steel, burners are independent controlled (milled out of single block of aluminum)
2700deg plus at around 10psi
Fired it today for the first time (day 4 of refractory cement cure)
Heats fast!
It should be a nice addition when I...
Well I could just cut the zip ties and move it? Lol
Yea, I decided on center mount as I didn’t want to bolt (zip tie) to the floor. The radiant flooring is a bit of a pain. (I was careful when adding the 50bmg progressive press, and didn’t feel like mapping pipe again) Also I wasn’t 100% on...
That is a beautiful craftsman!
I was actually looking for bigger than this 60 but the brass jaws won me over. It is in an area that sees “light use” and non-marring was helpful when driving out a cross pin or filing and such.
A bit overkill but it fits the bill nonetheless
As posted in vise(s)
A couple vises added.
A twin screw fisher, cleaned up and added to smith area:
A big Morgan 60 for reloading area.
First the stand:
The tree it came from, red oak
Sanded, 340+ lbs (18x18x30)
Poly
Morgan 60 w brass jaws
