220v to 115v Delta Unisaw Motor

I was picking up table saw rails today and the guy had this in his garage. I bought it... I think it should work - Can someone confirm this? I have a 1hp- single phase- 120v delta motor. I'll run 12/3 wire from it. Thanks!

220v to 115v Delta Unisaw Motor

Hello - I was viewing a similar thread to my question, but i think my application is slightly different... I have to power a Unisaw with 115v. It's currently 220v but has a dual volt motor. If someone can explain what wires to switch where - that would be GREAT! I know it's all there on the...

    Delta Jointer Restoration

Thanks - Free always makes thing more important...lol I would probably never buy a jointer, but since I found it, now all of a sudden I want one... The blades looked OK, I'm going to look at them better tomorrow, if they're decent, I may see how they cut, since I've heard they can be tricky to...

    Delta Jointer Restoration

Found this jointer on the side of the road... Rusted, but not that old... I cleaned up the table, and the motor works... Anything particular I should know about these... I sanded the table with 120 - 220 - 360 - and a coat of wax, and I've started taking it apart inspecting it piece by piece...

Craftsman Pro vise (China) vs. vintage Craftsman (Japan)

I'd definitely go with Japan. I think the Japanese stuff in general is probably better than a lot of USA stuff. They have MUCH higher standards for everything, and a very strong work ethic.... Huge difference with Made in China and Made in Japan. Stick with vintage USA when you can, but Japanese...

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Installed new power chord today. It was suggested that I ground the motor as well. Would I simply add a ground wire from one terminal on power switch to the pedestal? Bottom 2 lugs of the switch are for power, and the top 2 are the lights and motor, motor being the thicker 2 wires in the...

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Will clean the plate tomorrow and get a better look at it... It does run and sounds smooth, really smooth - I love it... I did open up the switch and the wires are looking old. I bought new wire and think I should maybe ground it....? Where would I add the ground wire? Maybe drill a small hole...

GFCI and old two wire power tools?

I' just about to re-wire an old pedestal grinder from the 1930's. If I switch it to 3 wire, where do I ground it? Would I drill a small hole in the pedestal and ground there?
