House has 2 200 amp panels with a 2'' pvc duct to the shop (200' run). 2. install a new meter base and run power from that. If I run from the house panels to a sub panel (100 amp) in the shop what size...

"Cinder" block garage - encapsulate somehow?

I've been a Bricklayer for 30 yrs. If you want you can send me some pics and I'll try to give some advice. You might try sandblasting to get to stable surface and then try a coating to prevent futher damage. What is the climate like where you live? Freeze thaw cycle?

    cinderblock overhang

3 block = 2 feet in height. I might go 4 courses of block giving you 32 inches for protection at the jambs form bumpers, carts and such.

    Footers

Normally the block are left 4" below the top of slab at door openings this allows the slab to pour through the block wall and be smooth as opposed to the block going to the top of slab and the cells and walls of the block being exposed.

THink about it oil is a petro product and the acid comes in a plastic bottle also a petro product. If this method seems...

Wood wall on slab, or 2 rows of cement block?

Bolck Well Here's some input if you put the garage on 2' of block it will resist bumper damage as it will be stronger. There is nothing wrong with either method as long as they meet code. By the way 2' of block will require 3 corses of block and you can figure amount by this formula: lenght in...
