4 post lift bridge jack woes

That reminds me I need a better torch. I have a small one I was tempted to use, but figured it would not get hot enough. True on it being a tool. I just hate "clearancing" new items, but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

4 post lift bridge jack woes

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I was at the point of desperation and had a pneumatic pump in my car and said screw it, if I ruin this, it is what it is at this point. lol

4 post lift bridge jack woes

Well, I am not proud of this. Its not pretty, but it works now. I beat the **** out of it with a small sledge while being propped up on my jacking tray on the concrete and it gave it just enough to work.

It would be 5' from the floor, so not really. Sadly, there are 2 bolts holding it in which I am not fond of. I will be fixing that

4 post lift bridge jack woes

I am waiting on my son in law to respond. He said he has a conduit bender, but I am not sure it will bend this one due to leverage to bend it. In my vise atleast it did not work. Admitingly, I do not have a good solidly mounted vise either, so there is that.

4 post lift bridge jack woes

Hello All, I have a 4 post lift that I tried the cheap way with an Airbag jack to do wheels off work to no avail. I just recently found a steal on a bridge jack, so I snagged one up (i tried to get a pneumatic, but he only had manual left). Now I am finding that the handle of the jack is not...

Suggestions needed for making a "normal man's" garage usable and still being able to store tools and materials

Funny you say that because I feel like my single car garage was more usable than this 2 car garage is. lol. What I gain in an extra bay, I lose in useful depth and width because of 2 doors and a column. I will check out some cabinets as well and see if I can utilize some maybe a bit lower...

Suggestions needed for making a "normal man's" garage usable and still being able to store tools and materials

Funny you mentioned the Barrina because right after your last post I started googling more and see these are pretty popular. I could probably get pretty crazy and do like 6x 8' lights and position them between the garage doors and off to the sides and then the far side of the garage and have...

Suggestions needed for making a "normal man's" garage usable and still being able to store tools and materials

Thanks for the reply. Let me clarify about the lights, they are LED and like 3600lum per strip. I need atleast 1 more to be comfortable, but there is a lack of linking on these. They are linkable, but the company never sold the linking cables so I hacked up and make something to link them as its...

Suggestions needed for making a "normal man's" garage usable and still being able to store tools and materials

Alright guys, don't beat me up too bad. . . . .I am plagued by the "normal man's" garage and I happen to debatably like to work on things. The struggle I face is I am forced to cram 10lbs of **** into a 2lb bag all the time and am just at a loss of what to do. I also need more lighting! These...

Noobs 4 post lift questions (leveling advice)

My logic is if I am going to have to spend the money, get wifi now. I have on more than one occasion left my garage doors open over night. Figured that is an easy failsafe.

Noobs 4 post lift questions (leveling advice)

I am looking on ebay. Cheapest model with WIFI happens to be with backup and was $429. This link does not go anywhere. I could probably screw around with it and figure it out to do myself, but I am probably 6 projects deep and some things i rather just pay someone so I can get to the ones I...

Noobs 4 post lift questions (leveling advice)

I was paying someone to do it all as I have no experience in this arena. I would have thought just raising the rails 18" ish was adeuate, but they want to replace the rails completely. I can provide my own opener, which I have found in the $400-500 range vs their $1200 for the same opener, but...

Noobs 4 post lift questions (leveling advice)

So i just measured with a magnetic level I have that I used for pinion angle adjustments. If its correct, in reality its only a 2-3* difference on those columns. Still as much a worry? My issue right now is I am already over $3k in, and have another $3k in mods sitting to get done, plus another...

Noobs 4 post lift questions (leveling advice)

Thanks. Sounds like bolting down is going to be neccessary :( Did you put a car on it prior to having it shimmed? trying to determine if this thing is safe to use. I have a miriad of mods pending that I was waiting to assemble the lift to do
