More siding: I can't take any credit for the work on it, though -- my father and my friend, Martin have brought it to this point. I think it looks really good! I'm particularly fond of the lack of window or door trim. I'm not planning to put any on because I want it to have a little bit of...

Thank you! In the next few months, it's going to start to look a lot more finished. :) Here's some bonus Porsche content. I'm changing the turbo in my track car (which, as some of you know, is a fairly involved process). It's the first time I've done it, so I'm taking my time and pretty...

I've been too busy working on my cars to do much to the metal shop, but my dad got started at the siding last week. It's local pine, planed to 1" and cut with a cove and tongue on top, square with a groove on the bottom: Any thoughts on a colour to stain it?

+1. Intriguing and well written. I'm subscribing, too!

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I use rubber stems, too, and my caps are long gone. Taking hot pressures as soon as possible after getting off track requires it, at least for me. Jack, that band saw quoted above looks great there!

Thanks! Yeah, this one was kind of overkill in a few spots (for example, I likely didn't need to tape all the long seams where the sheets of barrier meet, given that they overlap so much) but I liked the way it looked when it was done, and it definitely works! Given the unseasonable warmth...

Thank you! Mine is a funny shape for a "one car" garage, but it really is proving to be a nice place to be. I definitely don't regret the wood stove, either. After I get the air lines done, I'll get started on a bench, a counter and some storage.

    Nice speaker mounts!

Awesome! It's too bad that they cancelled the dog sled races, again (for all you Southern readers, it's the only time of the year that anyone in my area actually sees a dog sled -- we don't really get around that way up here). I moved my compressor in today: And assembled the first (small)...

Thanks, John! Here's the finished product of the speaker mount project: They will hold plenty of weight, but they don't do much to prevent side-to-side movement, so if there ever is any of that (unlikely) I'll have to modify them. Placed up on the wall, the speakers sound a lot better than...

I didn't do any plumbing for the air lines, but I did do a small welding project: speaker mounts for the wall. They're designed to tilt the speakers down a little, so they're not quite 90°. I bought some 1-1/4"x1/8" stock and some rod and cut and welded them.

I'm picking up the plumbing supplies for my air lines today. This will be an interesting weekend!

    140 x 64 Family Back Yard Garage

Thanks, Paul, my dad is more of a woodworker than I am, though I have made some furniture and am just about to build some cabinets for the metal shop. I do a little work on my track car (a 944 Turbo that I run at Mosport, or whatever they're about to start calling it) though, and I'm gearing my...

    140 x 64 Family Back Yard Garage

Paul, great garage! It's funny to me how many Canadians post here during the winter, only to disappear when the weather gets warmer. :) Did I interpret correctly that your small parts drawers are from Gray, or were you referring to the tool boxes? Any ice on the rink, yet?

Moisture in concrete around anchors of lift

That's good. Did you drill through the plastic sheeting, too? If you're referring to my case, I tend to agree. When I don't have to take the building through such a large cold>hot range, I see less (or none) of what I describe. In any case, the word from Hilti on the anchors is that...
