    Tinting Chrome Tools

The problem I run into is the product need to either "soak" into the metal :headscrat or etch it. Any paint type product I use scratch off. I was thinking of putting my metric sockets into the blast cabinet and removing the shine on them. They are cheap craftsman type tools. For my impact...

    Tinting Chrome Tools

Is there a way of color tinting my chrome sockets? Kind of like blueing a rifle barrel? I keep getting my metric and SAE socekts mixed up, cause I'm always to lazy to keep them separate, and was hoping I could add some color to my toolbox. Not as much as these but that's the idea

    Excellent Cheap Magnets

Yes Microwave magnets are great also, not as stong as hard drive magnets but stronger than most magnets I find and well worth the effort. Being larger they have their own uses. Also hard drive magnets are only magnetic on the one side where as microwave magnets are magnetic all over. Also if...

    Excellent Cheap Magnets

Yup, they are strong enough to collect filings on the other side of the pan. Just removed it before you drain the oil and the filings should pour out, at least that's the plan. Blood blisters... been there, done that too. Usually for the discoverers, impresses upon them the significance of...

Duct Booster Fans to replace bathroom exhaust fans

Thanks, I'll hook them up today and see, if they **** at least 100CFM and quiet, which they should consider the proximity of the fan to the rooms, I'll be happy; I keep you posted. Yes SilverStar and Sovereign Lake Nordic Club have sure blossomed these past few years. It's the housing prices...

    beer fridge???

I use my cheap beer fridge as a condenser for my compressor. I punched a 1" hole on both sides near the bottom, placed a coiled copper tube on the bottom inside of my beer fridge, connected the high side to incoming air, and low side to outgoing air. I placed drain valve just outside the...

Duct Booster Fans to replace bathroom exhaust fans

6768rogues Yes there is something I hadn't thought through, if I pull to much air through the top of my home my NG furnace and water heater may exhaust through the inside of my home rather than their chimney. I have funneled the 10" to 8" and placing the 8" opening on the top side of the try...

What is with the performance on this site?

What is your browser. IE7 is bloated and noticeably slower than IE6 on most PCs, especially that anti phishing filter etc etc. Do you get the same performance with other browsers, ie Firefox? Also opening in a new tab takes more resources than just loading a new page in the current windows...

    Excellent Cheap Magnets

Being a computer technician and a weekend wrench I don't have much to contribute to this board. One tip I have is a source for very strong yet small magnets. Inside every hard drive there are often a pair of magnets, occasionally only one. They can be found on any 5 1/4 inch hard drive dating...

Duct Booster Fans to replace bathroom exhaust fans

Is there a problem with having to much exhaust in your bathroom ceiling blowers? I can see myself sucking away to much heat if left on to long but otherwise is this counterproductive? The home was built in 1970, currently has poor insulation in the roof, only 4" :wtf: and old 2 pane type...

    Prep Galvanized Shed For Paint

Update Well been prepping the shed for paint, I couldn't strip the paint as 2 gallons of paint stripper wasn't lifting it properly, so I went for my grinder and many sanding disks of 25 to 50 coarse  I wonder if I still need to "Etch" the galvanizing if I've gone over the sheet metal...

    Prep Galvanized Shed For Paint

Thank You  That's the kind of info I need. I haven't chosen a color yet, don't want white as it'll be like a white elephant in the corner of my yard, and dark colors fade but for flames I was thinking of this or perhaps hire someone who can do a little better ;) Can I scrub the panels...
