Impact sockets vs. Chrome sockets on an impact gun...

Yes, the square end of the anvil can and does get warn out because of chrome socket usage... I see it all the time.

    1/4" impact sockets

I wouldn't worry about a chrome 1/4 socket breaking when used with a 1/4" impact. What I WOULD worry about is the socket wearing out the ANVIL of the impact. I run into guys all the time that use chrome sockets on impacts and they wonder why they are buying anvils all the time. Sockets may...

    Reprogramming keypad on door opener?

How do you re-program the outside keypad on a garage door opener? We have a Craftsman opener and a wireless keypad. The keypad was installed by the previous owner of the house, and we do not have the code. Thanks!

Matco's new line of impact sockets

Most of the 1/2" drive line won't be available until late May/June, but the shallow sets are available now. SCPM146V- 10mm-27mm short 14 piece set, $74.35. SCP136V- 7/16"-1 1/4" 13 piece set- $74.35. Looks like they will be offering sets with both shallow and deep together under 1 part...

Matco's new line of impact sockets

I know I've sold a ton of these sets, of all drive sizes. Haven't heard any complaints or had to warranty any as of now.

    Nice reasonably priced torx sets?

The 5-point bits are not called Torx Plus. They are 'security drivers'. I have the VIM set on my truck now, PN V5PSD. Torx plus are like the 6-point torx, but the flutes are wider, and don't really come to a point at the outer edges of the tool/fastener.

Matco's new line of impact sockets

Edit: Looks like Dave beat me to it! Matco will still honor GP warranties. They have current stock of GP in the warehouses and will warranty GP with GP for now, then when current stock depletes they will substitute ADV for GP. Matco always had full intention to continue carrying the GP...

Matco's new line of impact sockets

I learned of these sockets at EXPO. I ordered 10 sets of various sizes. I received 6 of those sets 2 Thursdays ago. Sold all 6 sets Friday morning. Very good feedback so far from those customers. Here's an example of the pricing. 3/8" drive deep well, 7mm-19mm (FULL Set) is $67 list. All...
