UPDATE! Thanks to all of you for the help. Getting new sensors spliced in solved problems I didn't even know were related. Garage door works great again and my daughter is safer because of it!

Spliced in the new sensors and they work great. Didn't get to try the door yet as these sensors install at a 90 degree angle compared to what I replaced. Planning to go to Menards to see if I can coble together some sort of 90 degree L bracket to rig them up with.

When it gets above zero again, I'll let you know how the sensors work out.

It seemed like if there was power running down to the sensors, it was more likely the sensors than the head.

I guess I could swap connections again and see if it doesn't register power all of the way to the sensor just to see.

Nope. No lights. Tried the wagos and twisting the wire. Tried swapping connections. Pen device posted above shows power through the wago and down to the sensor.

Can I purchase generic sensors? I imagine I can't get the Ryobi sensors anymore.

Forgot to check the letters because I was so impressed with the pen! I had no idea how easy it was to use. I should have used that on a dozen electrical projects! Power all of the way down both sensor wires and on both sides of the splice.

I will go check for G and W. There are four coming out of one, and two coming out of one.

Light on the GFCI on the opener is lit up red if that means anything.

Opener works. Door goes up. Door goes down if I hold the button. Light comes on when plugged it. No light working on either sensor.
