help on this Rockwell 15-665 drill

I recently picked up one of these as well, and I'm in the process of restoring it. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to raise or lower the head, and how the pully system works. I've got it partially disassembled and there's nothing obvious that I can see impeding the movement. I've...

    Prentiss Vise Date Codes?

I picked up a Prentiss 51- 91 today from FB marketplace. I see this thread from years ago, but not much progress since then on identifying the dates on these vises. After some clean up and polishing, I found two patent date marks on either side of the jaws. If you look in the attached pics...

    Tale of two Craftsman Vises....

I had posted this in its own thread, but it seems relevant to the conversation here. Its a 5154, dated July 1939: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=478651

    Craftsman 5154 Vise

Yeah that's right, the swirls were from the machining and appeared after I took the wire brush to it and cleaned off the rust. The jaws came with it from the guy who I bought it from. One of them had no screws, so I had to buy some 5/16" x 1 1/2" and grind/shape them to fit into the tapered holes.

    Craftsman 5154 Vise

Ah, okay. That’s a shame, I’m kind of bummed that it’s got the wrong screw. I never would have known, it fits perfectly. Unfortunately I don’t have pics of the spindle nut outside of the vise, but I attached a few that give a decent view of it. Not sure if they’ll give the info you need...

    Craftsman 5154 Vise

Hello all! New to the forum, and looking for any input or information folks might have on a Craftsman 5154 fixed base bench vise. I picked this up from a retired machinist in the area for $50, and I'm starting to think it was a steal. Its in great condition, especially after I took the wire...
