Some more facts: The lifts are 18.125 wide for almost their full length, so the full 81" needs to be cut back. It only needs 1/2 inch, but if it was easier to do an inch, I would do that. Cup wheel would probably work, but that's a lot of surface to cut back (81" x 4" at 0.25" depth).
