I hope Kreg’s tool succeeds but that other tool manufacturers also jump into the Domino clone game. I’d be excited for a corded model at that price point.
I can’t speak to this guy’s specific motivation, but I always assume that internet influencers who get sent free tools or otherwise have access before they’re released to the public generally feel at least an implicit obligation to give positive reviews.
Looks like it’s only available as powered by Kreg batteries. Perhaps with the cost of batteries over time the Kreg might still be a better value (assuming it works well) but I still don’t love that it’s not corded.
I have and like 6” Bahco. The newer Milwaukee models actually seem to be really highly regarded. I prefer pliers wrenches (Knipex) for most situations where I would’ve previously used a traditional adjustable but sometimes I still feel ad adjustable is preferable particularly as a backer.
The new Klein is my first ball grip ratcheting screwdriver and I’m getting used to the different feel in hand and operation so with that background I’ll give my thoughts. The selector switch can be operated with one hand but I don’t find that to be easy. The bumps on the switch ring designed to...
I now have one of the new Klein ratcheting ball handle screwdrivers. Not as smoothly operating as my Snap On hard handle and Megapro (automotive version), but with the finger spinning function it operates just fine. I’ve never worried too much about the direction of selector switches but I do...
Several new reviews have popped up by YouTubers who’ve been sent these new screwdrivers by Klein. A couple have said the tooth count is 24, noting that the action isn’t as smooth and the backdrag is higher than the Anex in particular.
I’ve seen some of the reviews on YouTube and I don’t recall anyone giving a number. However, Bzeug says it has “very low backdrag” and I think he was at that point comparing it to the Vessel. I’ve not used the Vessel so I don’t know how it is as one to judge others by.
