Very impressive research! Thank you thank you. Pete Update: the pins are out. pretty close to 1/4", very soft steel, basically a cylinder with a rather loose fit in the bore. Thanks for the help.

Hi all. I have a Wilton Scout 14 that I am trying to remove the lead screw for refinishing. There appear to be two pins holding the lead screw in, and the pins appear to be peened into place. Any advice on a good way to remove these? Thanks! Pete

To my eye, this Simplex looks "right" for a vintage vise. It did need some resto work to make it nice enough to put into the workshop though. Time will tell if it holds up another 80 years. :)

First time poster, long time lurker. Thanks for the encouragement on fixing up vintage vises. I just finished this Simplex 43p. Now I'm looking for something the next step up... :)
