Wanted section? Or post to classifieds?

That’s correct! On the GJ app, the “Wanted!” forum under Garage Sale isn’t there. Not sure how to tag Ryan so if you could alert him, that’d be great. Thanks!

Wanted section? Or post to classifieds?

I'll show myself out, thanks... :Toilet: I don't know why, but the mobile app doesn't show the "Wanted" section. It goes directly from "Classifieds" to "Hot Deals." I figured I must've missed something when NUTTSGT replied so I logged into the browser version. So sorry... consider this...

Wanted section? Or post to classifieds?

Hi all, Is there a specific way to post a wanted ad in the classifieds section or is that not allowed? Just want to make sure I follow the rules set up but I haven’t been able to find anything about “wanted ads.” Thanks!

Need help with ID: 3-drawer tool chest

Finally finished getting all the rust and paint removed from each of the three drawers! Borrowed a corner of our complex this weekend and sprayed a coat of red primer on them. Just enough sunshine and a subtle breeze to make it interesting. Once the drawers are cured, they’ll get covered...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I’d start by sending a close up picture to easykeys.com (or similar company). https://easykeys.com/SearchResults?q=2426 They can help id your lock and may even guarantee it’ll work. I’ve submitted a few lock identification requests with them and am about to decide if I should pull the trigger...

Need help with ID: 3-drawer tool chest

Aluminum trim removed from the three drawers. I think the previous owner used a pair of pliers to crimp each trim piece in the middle so they wouldn’t move. Had to pull the rounded sections apart so it could slide off and be removed. Will be sanding trim to work out the most obvious plier...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

This is fantastic btw! I repurpose a piece of coil strapping that’s used on pallets of lumber. I’ll pick up random pieces that are left on the floor in the lumber section at big box stores. I haven’t tried rounding off the end; I usually cut it at a 60 degree angle so I can get the pointy part...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Makes sense! I posted up some more pics on my thread if you want to look at those. I’m thinking that the “buckling” on the sides right above the drawers is an intentional remnant of the build. Like a feature rather than a bug. But since it sits proud, paint comes off, it gets rusted, etc...

My Buddy | Disston rolling cart & top chest

Re: My Buddy | Disston rolling cart & top chest While in convo with provincial on the vintage toolboxes thread, I took more pics of the top chest of drawers, minus the drawers. Yellow highlight shows location of “7 84 MODEL” stamp in the metal.

The side handles are a bit different, but they’re also held by sheet metal screws.

Nice! I put a bunch more pictures at the start of the thread, especially if the interior and locking mechanism if that helps. Plus the drawers with aluminum trim.

Nope, my locking bar isn’t connected. It’s also a drop in bar intended for that center horizontal slot in the top compartment. In fact, mine was missing and I need to make a replacement. My handles are also stamped flat steel but the acorn nuts were on the inside. And no, the Disston has no...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I still think it’s a Disston Tools box based on the four drawers. Looks just like mine and the photo in post #8 of my thread showing the black label. (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=475203) Mine also has the acorn nuts but they were installed on the interior. Edited to...
