I'd highly recommend the factory insulated as well, having had both DIY and now Clopay R18.4. Check pricing from a local dealer, as mine were about 15% less than the exact same doors through H-D. In fact, their installed cost was about 10% less!

As others have said, the value is in your use. We all really loose out on the money end...both from property taxes and the things we do in the shop!

40' deep by 30' wide, but not by choice. The slope of my lot made it much less expensive foundation-wise to build this way. I would always prefer to have the doors on the long-side as others have suggested...just feels roomier with the extra room on the sides.

Beautiful place and great shop space. You will likely find that an insulation contractor can do it for very close to what you will buy the materials for yourself.
