    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My 30x40 Paradise in Mid-Michigan

Strongly consider wider doors. You don't have the need right now, but you don't know what the future will bring. First time you go to back a trailer in you'll really wish for at least one 12' wide door. My last 30x40 I put a single 18'w x 12'h door on the 30' end. Could roll my 4-post lift in...

    Home for an air compressor

This is pretty cool and doesn't look like it takes up too much space inside:

New Garage Door: Buy Insulated or Save Money & DIY The Insulation?

I'd highly recommend the factory insulated as well, having had both DIY and now Clopay R18.4. Check pricing from a local dealer, as mine were about 15% less than the exact same doors through H-D. In fact, their installed cost was about 10% less!

    That turned out pretty slick.

Adding another garage to property worth it?

As others have said, the value is in your use. We all really loose out on the money end...both from property taxes and the things we do in the shop!

    Garage Door: Wireless Control Panel

I was in the same boat on a previous house. I couldn't find a wireless controller, so I ended up with another remote (like what you clip to your visor in your car) and I attached it to the wall with Velcro where I wanted it. Worked out great, but no light control. Liftmaster may have what you...

    Ceiling Treatments? Pics?

Try a search in the gallery of corrugated or metal ceilings. Also saw someone here that did the ceiling in tongue & groove pine...that looked really nice.

    30x40 or 40x30 HELP!!!

40' deep by 30' wide, but not by choice. The slope of my lot made it much less expensive foundation-wise to build this way. I would always prefer to have the doors on the long-side as others have suggested...just feels roomier with the extra room on the sides.

RapidAir has their FastPipe system that is straight lengths of tubing if you are not interested in rolling out the coiled stuff.

Liftmaster 8500 Install Alternatives - No Clearance

I've got a brand new LM 8500 I'll sell for cheap if interested. I bought 3. Just went to install the one for my shop door, and after unpacking everything and thoroughly reading the instructions, discovered that it doesn't have the capacity for my insulated 18'W x 12'H door. They work beautifully...

    Garage Attic Insulation

Beautiful place and great shop space. You will likely find that an insulation contractor can do it for very close to what you will buy the materials for yourself.

    Final Days 40% Armorpoxy Discount

I've got new concrete, power trowelled very smooth, with construction dust and drywall mud to clean up. They said many do nothing other than a thorough clean, but they do recommend a light etch or diamabrush to give the surface some texture for the coating to adhere best. He cautioned against...
