My builder covered the entire garage floor with sand (about 2-inches deep) to protect from traffic during construction. Seems to have worked and cost was almost nada!!

The tiles you refer to here appear to be those called Big Foot - which I've been looking at too. Just worry about PVC being noisy! Any comments????

Try "bull nose" corner bead - if you can get it in your area - it makes for a truly nice/different looking outside corner - rounded edge instead of the standard old 90 degree square. Takes a little more time finishing to the edge, but well worth it in looks in my opinion - gives more of the old...

DON'T USE RUBBER ROOF if you're going to also use the roof as a deck. Numerous mfg.'s make a self-adhering (peel-n-stick) product called Modified Bitumen. If you want to put down insulation board, you will need to add wood nailers on the perimeter and then adhere the insulation down as well...
