If I knew for sure that the vehicle in question hadn't seen snow it's entire life, I would forego the impact socket entirely knowing an XL DBE would suffice.

Grey Pneumatic makes the Duo socket for dual use (impact & ratchet). They are thin walled, and I don't notice much difference in weight compared to my snap on sockets. I can't comment on how well they hold up long term, as I've only had them for about 6 months, but they've been superb so far...
