Steer clear of the HF Crome sockets... I broke 2 the first time I used them and ended up just giving the rest away! I got a Grey Pnematic set off amazon for $375, 3/4"-2 1/2". Very nice set and good quality. They have a metric set very similar also. You never said how big of a socket you want up...
I work underground as well and would be lost without mine! We have been on surface for the last two months starting two new portals and I still find myself using mine all the time even in the daylight... Very helpful!

I've never used one of the HF impacts but as far as IR and Snap-On... Don't even consider the Snap-On! IR guns are less expensive, have more power and last longer. I also like the two push buttons for your directional control with the IR over Snap-Ons sliding spool.
You said you need to figure out how to move your box to your new job, and your Snappy dealer already goes there once a week... My dealer is usually willing to transport boxes from job to job even if they aren't snap on boxes. I'd give home a call and see if its an option.
Well I had one a couple days ago and could not find it. I used 400psi of nitrogen and some foamy glass cleaner... No luck. What is the special AC soap? And do the sniffers work well? I've never tried them. We have had some issues with dye, people dump a boat load in and with the temps our...
What will you be working on? Semis or equipment? Grey pneumatic impact sockets would be your best bet, they are very cheap but of good quality. In my opinion use your snap on discount on some good ratchets, a multimeter (I was never a fan of test lights), if you buy an impact gun skip the 3/8...
Fine tooth for everything! My coarse tooth ratchets are just collecting dust. They are typically stronger (more surface area to contact teeth) and fit into more places.
Just to clarify a bit, don't really intend on using it in the automotive field. Will be using on underground mining equipment (cramped tight spaces). If it could break most 1/2in bolts I might be sold. 10mm sounds a little discouraging.
