    ID this toolbox.

It's not a Hazet, but a Japanese "Caddy" like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Hory-Japan-Rolling-Tool-CADDY-Early-Hazet-Assistent-Copy-/110838978791?nma=true&si=Mas0EJJAUDQh7VwRf4xXTrqVo6w%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

    Epstein return policy?

Why muddy the waters with facts or details now? After all, you didn't require any to make the bet, nor to make a statement denigrating my intelligence and knowledgeability concerning the tools I buy. Certainly there shouldn't be a need for any when it's time to pay up. I'm not trying to...

    Epstein return policy?

Would you rather send me the bottle or paypal me the value of my beer of choice then?

    Epstein return policy?

I'm disinclined to go into specifics, not least because there are so many ardent HJE fans on here (I'm one of them myself) and I'm not interested in a crusade, just a return policy or accounts of return experiences. The liner notes version, however, is that the description of the item and of...

    Epstein return policy?

Yeah I know, but it's a holiday, and I figured before I spent a bunch of time e-mailing, PMing, or phoning I would just ask if anyone else had made a return or knew where to find the store return policy. Besides which, this will help the next guy who needs to know, whereas a PM won't be searchable.

    Epstein return policy?

I am not really satisfied with a purchase I just made with Epstein, but if they have a published return policy, my google-fu isn't strong enough to find it. Anyone have any experience returning something to them? Will I be out the (rather large) shipping/handling charges?

    Grip-On locking clamps

I'm considering ordering some Grip-On c-clamps but I wanted to solicit some opinions first. I'm looking at the aluminum jaw versions and I've heard a lot of people rave about them because they resist spatter. I don't do much MIG welding and when I do there isn't much spatter to speak of. I do...

I've been happy with my Archer, <$6 and US made.

    Looking for new welding helmet

Bingo. I have a Miller titanium 9400i that the company bought me and while it's very good, the hood I spent my own money on is an Optrel.

Tell me about this 'anvil' pics included

zkling- Whatever your background may be, you showed yourself to be uninformed about this particular piece of equipment, so I have no trouble standing by that statement. It was your tone, i.e. thanking the OP for a good laugh and telling him you likely wouldn't pick something that he obviously...

Tell me about this 'anvil' pics included

Do a google search for Brian Brazeal, it's his design. Among people who know what they are talking about he is one of the most well-respected working smiths in the country, and frankly a practical genius. To an uninformed armchair expert with nothing constructive to say, I guess it looks like...

Tools of the trade: Collision repair

Thanks for the info. I looked at a bunch of photos of streamline hammers and this seems like a very reasonable guess. I have another that I'm fairly certain was sold as a Dunlap that looks like it could have the same OEM as well. Any thoughts? I have a few mystery hammers that I'll have to...

    Vise I.D.

This was my guess as well. No way that vise is a Reed. For what it's worth, I've been following Carla's posts on other forums for years and, in my opinion, there's no one more educated about vises.

Tools of the trade: Collision repair

Can anyone comment on the quality of the older Craftsman Professional body hammers? Who was the manufacturer? I picked up a couple recently in a lot of other tools. The forgings are ROUGH but I thought they could be handy for re-shaping into special purpose tools. I have a few such hammers...

Pressure Pot (?) for spraying rustproofing oil

The weed sprayers basically come with one of those wands anyway, and I figured if you are considering building a pressure vessel yourself you are probably handy enough to make up different attachments out of brake line and surgical tubing. The weed sprayers I've used can spray several feet...
