    Stud Finder Help

+1 to the c.h.hanson magnetic one above. Works better than any electronic I have used on sheetrock. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Freightliner FL60 hotshot hauler, the slow build. (seriously)

For the sake of my own curiosity, I think you are saying that you are registering the truck/trailer for less than their rated capacity to avoid the total registered weight going over the 26k. I know quite a few people in TX are lowering their trailer's registered weight to avoid going over 26k...

safety and garage water heater / laundry ventilation

My gas hot water heater is in the garage, however it is in a closet. I think the closet solves the concerns around vapors reaching the pilot or heating elements and depending on layout could be easier than installing additional vents. For the dryer, an electric dryer is only going to have...

    Shed Moving: Need some advice

Perhaps I missed something, but you said 16x10 and the emails said "sheds wider than 12 feet". Is there something that is requiring the shed be transported turned sideways? If not, then I would assume it could be quite a bit cheaper as they don't have the same transport restrictions.

    Deck over slab patio

I had a similar situation at my last house. Key questions are: How big is the patio slab relative to the deck, I had a small slab and a deck that was 5x larger. How high off of the slab is the deck and what is the grade around the slab. As said above, pics worth 1000 words.

    Plumbing Question...........

I agree with this. I also will now agree with what volleyball said earlier. If it was me I would not use a glued in p trap, but instead use one that you can remove if necessary to clean.

    Plumbing Question...........

I believe OP said he is using a standard p trap, not creating his own with pipe fittings.

    Plumbing Question...........

I don't think the concern with your setup is that it will clog, but instead whether a siphon effect will cause your trap to be empty and hence not serve its purpose. If this ultimately is going into a floor drain, isn't there a trap already there?

    Pole saw reccomendations

I have one of the fiskar combination lopper/saw. I broke the lopper blade attempting to cut to large of a branch. I emailed Fiskar and the only question they had was my address so they could mail a new blade. It has worked great other than that.

Automotive repair shop owners? possible buyer...

Sounds like having CPA and financial information is a good start. If the business is housed in a corporation, be sure to have a legal search done on said corporation to ensure there are no outstanding civil/legal/tax judgements against it, as it would become your obligation once purchased. If...

Bosch coming out with alternative to SawStop...

I get what you are saying. I guess I have a hard time seeing something that will reduce injuries as being a bad thing. At one time much of what we are completely used to, such as momentary switches on saws, were new fangled safety innovations. I suspect if the internet existed before...

Bosch coming out with alternative to SawStop...

I don't agree that with the part in bold. I think the reason we have safety features is to reduce effects of accidents (i.e. not user error), not prevent misuse. Also, cars and power tools are not particularly similar from a product liability stand point, since cars require a government...

Bosch coming out with alternative to SawStop...

I think the response of yours that I bolded is the whole point. Once the technology is used for table saws, it would be a legitimate question as to why it wasn't incorporated in other types of saws. The manufacturers didn't want to go down that path. I think you misunderstand Laniers point...

Bosch coming out with alternative to SawStop...

Not to beat a dead horse, but below is an article on the reason why saw stops technology wasn't licensed: http://www.inc.com/magazine/20050701/disruptor-gass.html Key quote "If we all stick together and don't license this product, the industry can argue that everybody rejected it so it...
