    Window Above Work Bench

If you can manage it, natural light from the side is the best option in my mind. If you have the window in front, use blinds "venetian" or smaller, to direct the light downwards, and shield your eyes. This gives you the occasional view if you want it, and well lit work area daytime.

Need some seating / bench ideas.

Could you also cover the concrete with wood decking? I've done that with concrete balconies in the past. Fabricating a metal frame is a good way of reaching professional looks to home built furniture. Be sure to work with proper materials depending on climate/humidity in your area. Around here...

Cleaning Copper, What should I use????

Around here the subways sometimes stops because the scrappers cut of power cables in order to steal the copper. A few years back they even raided graveyards for metal ornaments. The problem has been reasonably stemmed, since most larger metal recyclers now only pay by bank transfer only, but I...

Boy did I PI$$ the banker off.

Be glad you're not living in Sweden! Here any unknown contamination issues with land is up to the current owner to resolve, and is not allowed to linger, by law. On the news a while back: Some poor guy bought a house. Previous owner had stored weedkiller by the barrel under the house. Barrels...

    Where to get water glass

Another use for water glass is as a sealer on masonry before painting it. It can also be used as a barrier/primer if you want to paint over old gloss oil based paints, with something weaker like water based paint, without it flaking off. No clue where to get it overseas. Here it's found in...

What did i do to my floor jack? not working right

Maybe someone else with better knowledge will come along, but I don't know if you're even supposed to use a jack that way, or should expect it to hold for that long. There is of course a limit to how tight the seals in a hydraulic appliance can be. Maybe the oil has degraded, and lighter...

Dealing with people who do not appreciate tools

Rant mode: ON I like to fix things. I like the idea of self reliability. Never took my bike to the shop when I was a kid, and always repaired stuff like clocks, VCR's, and computers myself when growing up. On larger mechanical stuff, I started late. Got my own car at 22 and have been doing...

What kind of mud would you use on a OSB to drywall seam

I'd probably not bothered with this. By the time I had enough dents in the wall for me to be annoyed by it, there would also be oil squirts, hazy spraypaint traces, and time for a repaint, where there's the opportunity to plaster up the dents. If going along with your original plan, I'd use...

    Ms. Yvonne

This can be a more complicated problem than local drains from the roof. I agree with the previous posters that a cheap quick solution or starting point for further investigation, is routing the roof drains further away. If you're unlucky though, water could be traveling from further up the...

    New guy from Sweden

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'll do my best to contribute to the site although my own garage isn't in order. Hi Bo! Well we live in Huddinge, and my GF comes from Sköndal, so Farsta doesn't seem that far off.

    New guy from Sweden

Hi! New guy from Stockholm, Sweden, checking in. This is a really nice forum. Are there any other members from Sweden? My garage is too full of junk at the moment to post meaningful pictures. Moved in a year a go, but newborn baby, work and the odd house chores take all the time from getting...
