    Thanks Cyclehead. I can get a replacement motor. That's not a problem, but I did want to replace the control board and try again. I'd love to convert it to single phase power and it's likely not that difficult with substitute parts. I just don't have the knowledge or support from this supplier.

    Is your mini-split indoor unit mounted low?

    Mine is 10 feet off the ground with a 12 foot ceiling with the vanes pointed at about a 30 degree angle. It seems to work fine that way.
