Please elaborate on hand wringing, that term is new to me.
I'm shopping around, gets me in the ballpark with different companies. I'll check with a few local (and some far away like Selectquote) agents, I have no problem involving a middleman. I've used "agents" here and there when they can...
I've knocked about 50% cost off my auto insurance this year and need to do the same with my house. Renewal this April rose about 75% for no reason, other than I'm not bundling auto with them anymore.
The nice thing about ASI/Progressive is they let you dial in a separate amount for detached...
You're not wrong. It's mostly convenience. When I first installed the PL adapters, I did it because stepping in my red iron shop was like a time warp to 1980, no wireless signals at all get through it. I had 1000 other irons in the fire getting the shop finished after building it, so the older...
I never did real testing on my setup other than throughput and fast.com / speedcheck.net (?) and all metrics looked okay to me.
I figure if I can program dozens of vehicles out in my shop using GM Techline Connect / SPS and have a 100% success rate so far, I think most ordinary Wi-Fi uses would...
So you only get 40/35 Mbps while in the house where modem/router is located? Or did you test the PL adapter in the house and get 40/35. Either way, I'd say you're doing pretty good for the money invested. 20Mbps will do everything you need cameras and device-wise, decent streaming, only...
That's certainly an option I'll consider. I prefer the reliability of a wired connection, but I've used P2P on a couple outbuildings at work and it's solid. For right now the 30mpbs I get through powerline adapter and (knock on wood) bulletproof reliability over the last two years, further...
My house setup consists of two Ubiquiti access points, one located in the attached garage which is about 70' away from my detached shop. Nothing penetrates the metal walls of the shop, not even cell service.
The ethernet over powerline is very reliable and goes to another Ubiquiti access point...
Thanks fellas. I figure a picture or two is worth a thousand words. Concrete is a very smooth finish, no rough texture at all. It has to be the sealer perhaps (that sees very little abuse other than tires rolling over it) not liking the rubber seal. Strange thing is the sealer / concrete...
It's absolutely sticking. I'll watch it stretch and with a loud "pop" it will release. There's also a line across the concrete where the seal sits; it's definitely leaving material behind.
The whole shebang (shop/door/etc) was installed in 2022. I don't remember it sticking until the last few months, but I'm struggling to understand why. The concrete was sealed using Dayton/Unitex 1315 sealer, but that was well before the building was even put on. Given the seal is only a year...
I have a 16x10' garage door in my shop. The "rubber" seal that meets the concrete sticks bad if it sits for a day or two, so much so that the garage door opener struggles to free it. It's never not opened, but for that first second or so till it pops, it's putting a lot of strain on the...
Late yesterday evening wife was complaining about lights flickering in the living room and her carpet cleaning machine was acting funny (she was shampooing carpets). One of those three light circuit testers showed everything to be fine so I sort of ignored it... until later when I went to...
