    FWK Adjustable Wrench

Thanks for your suggestions - have checked AA with no result. There is a small stamp near the head just visible in the first photograph saying "Made in Germany" so that is its country of origin. A gun book "THE DICTIONARY OF GUNS AND GUNMAKERS" says of F.W. Kessler "Marks including F.W.K...

    FWK Adjustable Wrench

Does anyone know who the maker of this tool might be - believed to be from Germany. There was a company called FW Kessler in the gun making trade there but that seems a bit removed from tool making. Have seen a few other tools on the web marked FWK as well. Thanks for any help.

    Ribbed Valve Seat Cutters??

Thanks for the feedback - found them in a scrap bin - may not have a complete set but will hang on to them for now in case they come in useful. The former owner said they belonged to his father but he had no interest in the tools - I pulled hundreds of dollars worth of lathe chucks, steadies...

    Ribbed Valve Seat Cutters??

Anyone know what these old style seat cutters were for - they have ribs on the cutting teeth - I thought maybe for roughing down hard seat materials like stellite. Any clues?? Thanks. PS: There are several different angles not just the one pictured

    Mystery Tool ID

Thanks - that's what I thought it did - having no makers marks on it suggested a cheapo tool. Got it along with heap of other brake tools from a deceased estate sale. Guess I will toss it in a toolbox in case it comes in handy one day.

    Mystery Tool ID

Anyone know what this tool does - it has a 3/8" square socket for a ratchet on one end and seems to twist with a cam action as two opposing edges are rounded over. I think it may be some sort of brake caliper piston retracting tool as it was in with a bunch of other brake tools but have not...

    Perfect-Lock Ratchet

Thanks for the feedback - it's not a brilliant ratchet and the swivel function is less useful than I thought but still an unusual addition to my collection.

    Perfect-Lock Ratchet

Any further information on who made these - some comments on this forum suggest Japanese origin : I bought this ratchet and wobble extension recently and thought it was a dud with broken teeth but a bit of oil got it working smoothly again - the drive swivels under the head and it is a nice...

Help Needed! Vintage Utica B-323 Pliers

Maybe you can ask Alloy Artifacts - they have some old Utica catalogues and maybe can look up that number: http://home.comcast.net/~alloy-artifacts/contact.html

    Strange Little Zeus Vice

Been doing a bit of research - seems likely DRP refers to the German Patent System which ran from about 1877 to 1949 so likely to be of German origin. The design looks very old - something from the early 1900's or before I suspect.

    Strange Little Zeus Vice

Missed out on buying this old vice for a cheap price but I am wondering if anyone knows who made it or what country it may have come from? Says "Zeus 2" and "D.R.P." on it. Suspect may have come from somewhere in Europe many years ago.

    Down Under: Tools from Australia?

Good database of (mostly defunct) makers here: http://www.htpaa.org.au/ausmakers.php Liked the old Sidchrome stuff from the 1960's and 70's but have now become a Stahlwille and Gedore fancier.

    Mole Self grip wrench.

Hi, The Mole Self Grip Wrench was a product of M. Mole & Son Ltd, Crindau Works, Albany Street, Newport Mon in the Uk. Their literature states the company was established in 1835 -but they started making these in 1955 - available in 7" and 10" straight and curved jaw models - a table clamp...
