Torsion Springs
I finished replacing both of the garage springs as a pair. While I've done this job before I learned lots about safety and how to weigh and order springs by door weight off of Youtube.
The last contractor my mom hired had replaced only one spring and it was a different...
Guys
I have had mine since 1/19 and really like it. Its powerful, there are no posts to open a door into and when not in use, it stores under my F150! I have only 9 foot 3 inch ceilings so this fits well.
What I don't like is the lack-o-service I got from my vendor. I had installation...
I installed an analog test oil pressure gauge to assure that my 5.4L Triton F150 makes the required oil pressure when hot. The "gauge" on the dash is fake, meaning that the needle goes to half when the engine is above 10 pounds. That's bogus information.
I now can say for sure that it reaches...
There are tons of possibilities here because the discharge out of the tank is pressurized. You could drain it into a container, use an auto drain to blow it outside and either probably wouldn't freeze as the small amount of water and long discharge period will clear the line.
My auto drain...
Guys,
Because I've been good all year, I decided to treat myself to a new toy (er-tool). This is one of those things I searched then researched to death to find the right one to meet my needs.
I have never been a fan of laying on my back under a car with 4 jack stands with my nose 3 inches...
Replaced the springs on my Wayne Dalton garage door. These are the Torquemaster I style internal springs.
I dreading doing it but after watch Youtube videos on it and following the instructions it took about 2 hours, not too bad.

I was playing with the Earthquake XT and compact on Sunday at a HF Store. It reminds me a bit of my IR composite maybe not as well balanced but about the same weight at 4.4 pounds. The mini is cute, but has much less torque.
The feel of the controls is very nice and the forward/reverse switch...
Dave,
I've done it both ways with no noted difference in results. I guess one could argue that you have less leaks if you shut it down in summer but I don't have any leaks anyway so it's a moot point.

Stikman,
I found the problem while looking at the position of the reverse valve (I wanted to make sure that the valve and body were aligned perfectly). I pulled the reverse valve and found the leak.
There it was, the blue o-ring on that new reverse valve was wedged/pinched and that caused the...
It leaked before and after the new parts. Obviously I took it apart as the leak wasn't going to fix itself.
There are a couple things I need to try because this problem will end up being unique I can tell. I can't be 100% sure that the reverse valve is directing the air into the rotor body...
Stikman,
Nice 56 F100, I had a black one years ago with a 292 Y-Block in it.
Yes, I replaced all the o-rings including the one at the power selector. I keep wondering if all the parts are correct or there is something I'm missing? Ingersol-Rand is a very unfriendly company in which to get...
I replaced that reverse valve with a new one with new gaskets. Unless perhaps the body itself is cracked I am at a loss to explain this, seems a shame as it was a nice gun.
