Between the heavy equipment and tile location next door to where I work - I have access to a lot of heavy duty pallets built out of 2x4s. I did a pallet board ceiling in the garage/shop so I had a lot of the spars left over and decided to use some of the best ones for my workbench surface...

Mine sits directly on the floor. It hasn't shifted or moved at all.
