    non drying caulk remedy needed

Is it DAP brand? A while back they released a bunch of caulk that was defective, had some shower sealer that did the same thing. Was a pain to clean up too. Use a razor blade ro cut/scrape away what you can.

    Painting the shop

I used a laser level and made small pencil marks and then used Frog tape, it's a green painters tape. It stops the paint from seeping much better than the blue tape did. It wasn't too difficult to do, worst part was marking all the level lines, painting was the easy part. Picture from when I...

how much confidence should I have in my new epoxy floor job ?

A friend of mine did this to his garage as well, I think he followed the prep pretty well, it was newer concrete however. The biggest problem he had was hot tire peel-up. Other than that it has held well in other areas that get fluids, jacks, stands.....

Garage Planning - Couple of Questions

Go with the biggest you can afford, and make sure it has plenty of ceiling height! If you are doing a two post, make sure the concrete is thick enough in the area where it will be mounted. I think 5-6" is recommended but you might want to check that out. I'd place the lift in an easy to drive...

    painting garage walls

Welcome, I just finished painting mine..so I guess I can only tell you what I really did. Primered everything, to me it's the best way to go about things; it really does help to seal the surface. New drywall ***** up primer so if you use it, make sure you get enough for a good coating. I also...

    Garage striping

Maybe it was just operator error! Not really sure. It does feel to be about the same as the blue painters tape It did do what it said it would though. Once I had the tape up it held well and didn't let the paing seep through. I'd use it again, thankfully I'm done painting stripes for quite...

    Garage striping

It does work better in the sense that no paint seeped under neath, and when I pulled it off, left a very clean line. The problem was actually getting it to stick to the wall! My walls are semi-gloss so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it, but the tape did seem to peel back a bit...

    Garage striping

Hey guys, I posted this in my personal thread but thought I would show you what I have done here as well. I used a new product called Frog tape. Just set my laser level at the heights I wanted and made some pencil marks then ran the tape. It didn't stick to well initally to my semigloss...

    Suggestions for finishing...

Well here is an update as promised. The garage as it sits now.....all this clutter will be cleaned up once cabinets are installed and I finally have a workbench again!:bounce: For those curious about stripes. I used a laser level and I tried out the new Frog Tape. Oddly enough it works...

    Garage striping

I posed the same question to a member here, Reflexx, who used some 3" or 4" tape, and it looked good initially but it didn't hold up and he was going to have to take it down. I just bought paint for striping my garage yesterday, and even though it will take some more prep work, I think it will...

How Do You Organize All Your Aerosol Cans??

I know it was asked but didn't see the answer...how are you guys hanging these from the wall? Really great idea to widen the bottom portion JRG!

    When is it "good enough"?

When I can find things I need quickly, and when I can successfully do what I need to in the garage without asking myself if I am missing an area or tool to complete the job. Is that vague enough? lol In a way it is always a work in progress, but as long as I am able to use it for what I need...

    General 220 wiring question

Good point, I'll have to check as I believe you are right on the 4 wire setup, I think it is needed for the heater to run the fan on it. Obviously I still have a lot more to check into. I appreciate all the help!

    General 220 wiring question

6768- I guess that was the way I was posing my question earlier. If I personally never plan on running the two together, do I need the subpanel? In other words, I know I will have limited access to a welder, say maybe 2-3 times a year, but the garage heater will be used more often in the...
