    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

I’m in Sanford. The machine was in Mt Pleasant. Looks like it’s now sold so even if didn’t change my mind on it I would’ve missed out. My MiG is a Millermatic 211. Not enough amps for that thickness. I also love tig welding more than MiG.

    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

Thanks for the extra info. I do have the electrical service but I decided to pass on it because of what you mentioned about needed the extra passes regardless. My HTP works great and I already have multiple torches and foot pedals for it. I appreciate all the info. I didn’t even know there was a...

    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

Thanks for all that info. I definitely have to think hard about it. If the hours are correct I think it would be worth it since I’m not an industrial welder. It just would be nice to be able to weld 1/2” material without having to do like 4-5 passes. I would hate to buy it and the hours have...

    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

****…I didn’t know you could reset the arc timer. Here are some pics of the machine in for reference. I have heard that the 400s were serious workhorses…I just checked that link you posted. It’s not even hidden to reset the hours. That makes me really think now. As you can see there’s no cooler...

    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

That’s definitely something to think about. I might have time to check it out and test it sometime this week. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for considering the low hours on the machine?

    Dynasty 400 vs Invertig 251

I currently have an HTP invertig 251. It’s a year and a half old and has been great. I use the miller wireless foot pedal with it and a Ck worldwide flexloc since I mainly do stainless steel exhausts. I’m gonna need to weld some thicker mild steel in a few months, 3/8” to 1/2”. There’s a used...

Thanks for the advice occupant. I’ll read through what you recommended and also shorten the tube. I’ll also look into moving it to the swing door.

    The Abrasive Blasting Resource Thread

I have an ALC sandy jet blasting cabinet that works great. I made a metering valve for it but it doesn’t seem to work. Here’s a pic of the setup. If anyone can tell me what’s wrong with the setup I’d appreciate it. I didn’t mount it at the bottom because I wanted to retain the spring hinge to...

    Welding Helmet Recommendations (Auto Darkening)

I’m only a hobby welder but I’ve used a few helmets and currently have 3. I use the speedglas 9100xxi for tig welding. Great view and comfortable. I use a miller digital infinity w clear sight 2.0 for MiG welding. Great view and I used it for everything before I got the speedglas. My only...

Got the caps off. I’m no expert but I think the cylinders look good, pistons look good, and crank journals look good. Got a full tune up kit coming also.

    Quincy 325 help

Thanks Mac for all the info. I got it most apart. Having some trouble getting the connecting rod caps off at the moment. I’ll probably just start fresh with all the piping since it seems to need new setups anyway. Check out the pics. It looks like it’s been rebuilt before and inside the...
