Installer of door opener says no go

No response from LM yet but a local installer has given some great info. -The 3800 and 3900 are the same under the skin, just a different warranty for each, life time vs 2 years. -They both have PLASTIC GEARS and he said that is the wear item on both. -He also said they do not install many, as...

Installer of door opener says no go

These were the ones listed on the LM site. I will try another from a different part of town and see what they say. the drum size was 6in where the cable rides. Marc, I will call them in the am and see what LM says. I am in retail and understand showing me what may be a better product but I...

Installer of door opener says no go

-I do not have official specs for the door, it was installed last year by the builder who built the pole barn for me, but here is what I know. -Standard lift -New non insulated steel door. -1 time per day would be alot as I don't have the time I would like to spend out there daily. Randy

Installer of door opener says no go

Could be there is a problem with the product and LM will not back the installer. I was not told that but it does happen when a manufacturer over spec's a product and leaves the customer and the retailer holding the bag when the performance is sub-standard Randy

Installer of door opener says no go

On the LM website they list the 3800 to work with a 14ft tall door, not to exceed 180sq ft. I am at 168 sq ft so it should work but I do understand I am on the higher end of the specs. I am not going to use the door opener daily many times per day as I do with my auto garage door openers. The...

Installer of door opener says no go

I have called 3 door opener installers and they said no go with using a LM 3800 on my 14H by 12W uninsulated door. The option I am being given is a $1300 installed commercial unit with a single remote. Not to sound cheap but I could pay kid next door $5 per open/close and be good for a few years...

    Just started pole barn

Had some progress this week. Went with intergral color for the shop floor, the rear drive was the same batch so it is colored as well. The total job was a 12x20 rear driveway, 30x40 shop floor, and a 12x60 front driveway. Once again this happens while I am out of town for work I can start...

    Just started pole barn

Can't wait to get home and check out the barn, been in Cali all week for work and didn't get to see any of the build except for pictures my wife has sent me. What a help she was this week, I think I'll keep her. Randy
