What unique features did you do or wish you had done when planning you garage?

Don't forget to bury some chain in the slab in a couple of locations.....you can always pull up, but when you need to pull down these come in real handy!!!

    Gas lines?

Yep...back to the black pipe, what I saw being used in a local build was plastic, but it was CSST, plastic covered stainless steel. After some research no way I will use it. Please disregard this post....it will self destruct in 20 seconds, as would my shop if I used this stuff. :shocking:

    Gas lines?

No chance of natural gas, I am way out in the boonies. I wanted to know if anyone has used plastic, and what are the results? The feed from the tank to the shop will be black iron, just wondered what my options were once inside the shop.

    Gas lines?

Need to run some propane lines for the stove/oven and a gas dryer. What are my options now?

    Things listed on Craigslist

A good one I saw here in Austin was: "Stools, nice brown color" as the title. Of course it was for bar stools, what else could it be... :shocking:

    Scorpions!

That is what I found, although the carb spray worked pretty good last night, so does my boot. I contacted my local Texas A&M guy and he said there are a couple of sprays that will kill on contact and some dusts that work a little slower. I will secure some and test them out.

    Scorpions!

As much fun as "hunting" them sounds, I want to go the nasty, eco non friendly, global warming, bad for the environment method of chemical warfare and be done with them.....sorry to any tree-huggers, but my wife about killed herself when she spotted one. The only good thing about that is she...

    Scorpions!

Now that my shop is up and running I have discovered that along with my fill dirt came some 8 legged creatures with it. I now have a large population of scorpions. At least that is what I think happened, I have never seen a scorpion around here until the dirt arrived. They did not show up until...

    Propane verses Mapp??

Is there a difference between the "torch" for propane and mapp? Can you use the run of the mill propane torch with mapp?

    Metal Halide question?

Thanks Charles, but is the dispersal due to the reflectors? The basic light fixture w/out the reflectors is the same? I have 2 high bay lights and the only difference I see is the reflector, can a high bay use a low bay reflector and become a low bay?

    Metal Halide question?

After the frustrations tonight I took one apart, and behold a multi-tap, with all the other "legs" capped off except the 110 that is hooked to the lead to the outside. So with that figured out just one more question about these things...other than the reflectors what is the diff between a high...

    Metal Halide question?

It does say M59/H33 on it, but is that before they were converted to 110v or is the bulb the same for all voltages?

    Metal Halide question?

I am so confused on these lights, guess I need to learn how they work. Here is what I have. What bulb do I need to use with these? Looks to be wired for 110v!

    Metal Halide question?

Ok, any electricians out there? I just purchased a pallet of used 400w low bays, while sorting them all out and testing I ran across one that is 277v. I can't see that it is a multi tap. The others have all been setup for 110v and all have worked. Is there a way to make it work on 110v? :shocking:
