    New Garage, Need City Variance

I went through this process 2 years ago to build my 24x25 attached garage. There is an unused road next to my house so technically I am a corner lot and have 25' setbacks to each of the streets. My garage comes within 10.5' of the unused street. The process probably varies a lot state to...

    post your garage construction cost!

In northern MA built a 24x25 with a 12x12 breezeway to connect to the house last year. All stick other than the foundation, fully finished, insulated, and painted. Fairly extensive electrical requirements. Bid was $89k and the final cost was closer to $100k between some extras I added and...

New Build Garage - What do you wish you had done?

Construction is just finishing up on my 24x25 garage right now, here is a list of things I did and things I wish I had done. + I did 12.5' ceilings to fit a lift if I decide to go with one later. + 240v outlets in place for a welder and compressor. + 2 hose bibs in the garage for car detailing...

Review my plan for a small 3 car garage

Re: Review my plan for a small 3 car garage - Boston MA I'm also in the Boston area. Finishing up construction on a 24 wide x 25 deep 2 car garage which was all I could possibly fit on my 1/4 acre lot. It's not even done and I'm already wishing it was larger; I feel like 28x28 would be a lot...

Opinions on 3 car garage spacing

1000 times this. My 24x25 is just about finished (had to get a variance to even build this so it's as big as it can possibly be). Haven't even put a second car in it yet and I'm already wishing it was bigger.

Liftmaster 8500W - New Model, Fixed Controller!?

In my personal case I didn't know about any of the issues when I had the 8500's included in the builder's quote. I was not a member here at the time and my initial searches didn't show much in the way of problems. I "upgraded" to 8500w's just before the actual install in the hope that it would...

Liftmaster 8500W - New Model, Fixed Controller!?

Assuming you are talking about the wired controllers, I had 2 8500w's installed in my still under construction garage. One of the wired control units failed (blank display buttons do nothing) in less than a week. Still waiting on a replacement.

Why so much waste during garage build?

I'm in the middle of a 24x25 garage + 6x12 breezway build right now. The framers generated about 2 trash barrels of waste wood. The siding guys were worse around 3 barrels of waste. The stairs generated another barrel or so of waste, mostly from all the 45 cuts.
