Thanks for all the suggestons. I sold it and a bunch of old hand tools to one of your members in return for a nice donation to the fire department that picked my dad up off his floor a few times.

I'm in Schenectady, NY, and I'm cleaning out my Dad's house. Some nice person here helped me identify it. Now I need to find a way to get it out of the house asap. Suggestions on how to get rid of it? Where I could sell or donate it? Some photos:

I think it may have come from the Billerica, MA, B&M RR service yard. It was rescued from a B&M steam heating plant that was being torn down. Here are some pix:
